Philip Schlesinger
Philip Schlesinger is Professor in Cultural Policy at Glasgow University, where directs the Centre for Cultural Policy Research. Philip, who lives in Glasgow, is a Trustee of TRC, the creative content training and research body. He has undertaken many media research projects, including work on Scotland. He is presently engaged in a study of government policy on creativity in the film and television industries. His views on media matters have been sought by parliamentary committees at Holyrood and Westminster and by the Competition Commission. His academic work is known internationally and has been widely published and translated. He has held visiting academic posts in France, Italy, Norway and Spain and Switzerland and regularly gives lectures overseas. Philip is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and of the Royal Society of Arts, and is an Academician of the Academy of Social Sciences.
