Martin Campbell

Ofcom Role: Martin is Chief Adviser, Radio at Ofcom, with special responsibility for the regulation of radio formats and localness. Biography: Martin worked as a newspaper journalist in the sixties before entering commercial radio in 1975. He hosted daily phone-ins for many years before going into management. He was Head of Talks at BRMB for four years, Head of Features at Radio Trent (now Trent FM), Head of News at the former IBA 's National Broadcasting School , Programme Director for the Allied Radio Group, and had been Managing Editor for three years at national Talk Radio (now talkSPORT) before joining the Radio Authority in 1998. Other stations include Pennine (now the Pulse), and GWR in Bristol . He has had extensive involvement with industry training, having been Principal Lecturer at Cornwall University 's Postgraduate Broadcast Journalism Course and as a regular visitor to Radio Nederland's RNTC. In 2007 he was inducted as a Fellow of the UK Radio Academy. |
