Neil Stock

Head of Broadcast Licensing

Ofcom Role:

As Ofcom’s Head of Broadcast Licensing, Neil is responsible for all strategic and operational aspects of the planning, licensing and format regulation of commercial (analogue and digital), community and other radio services, and the licensing of all non-BBC television services. He also plays a full role in the development of Ofcom's policies and strategies for radio regulation, and contributes to the ongoing implementation of digital switchover in television and the planned re-organisation of the digital terrestrial television platform.

Biography:

Before joining Ofcom as its Head of Radio Planning & Licensing, later being promoted to Head of Radio, Neil was Deputy Director of Development at the Radio Authority, where he had substantial involvement in the preparatory work for Ofcom alongside his responsibilities in respect of radio licensing. He joined the Radio Authority as a Development Officer, working on radio licence applications, in 1998. Before that, he worked in newsrooms for CBS News and Anglia Television.
