Colette Bowe

Colette Bowe was appointed to the Board of Ofcom on 1 January 2008.

She was appointed Ofcom Chairman with effect from 11 March 2009.

Colette trained as an economist and has held a number of senior roles in the public and private sectors. She began her career at the Department of Trade and Industry and subsequently worked at the Independent Broadcasting Authority, the Securities and Investment Board, as Chief Executive of the Personal Investment Authority and as Executive Chairman of the European Asset Management Business at Robert Fleming. Colette chaired Ofcom’s Consumer Panel from its inception in 2003 to December 2007.

Colette Bowe is Chairman of Electra Private Equity plc and Chairman of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.  She is a Board Member and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Axa Investment Managers, a Board Member of Axa Deutschland GmBH and a Board Member of the UK Statistics Authority.  She is a Governor of Bancrofts School, a Trustee of the Tablet Trust and of the Nuffield Foundation, a Vice President of the Royal Television Society and a visiting Fellow at Nuffield College Oxford.
