The Byron Review
In September 2007 the Government announced an independent review of the risks to children from exposure to potentially harmful or inappropriate material on the internet and in video games, led by Dr Tanya Byron.
Dr Byron's report was published on 27 March 2008 and can be found on the Byron Review website at http://www.dfes.gov.uk/byronreview/.
Ofcom encourages people to make informed choices about their internet use and particularly to learn how to manage any risks they are potentially exposed to when online as part of its work to promote media literacy in the UK. Ofcom consequently submitted evidence to the Review which can be found at http://www.ofcom.org.uk/research/telecoms/reports/byron/.
