Corrections to the consultation entitled Review of General Condition 18 – Number Portability - 27 November 2006
On 16 November 2006, Ofcom published the consultation entitled Review of General Condition 18 – Number Portability. Ofcom has noticed errors in Section 3, Section 5, Annex 4 and Annex 9. These have been corrected in the document currently published on Ofcom’s website.
- Section 3 - Question 5 The question requests respondents’ analyses of the costs and benefits of a comprehensive transition of the mobile industry to direct routing using NICC Service Description 8 or other suitable standard by the end of 2007, ahead of a further transition to ACQ/CDB. This is incorrect. Ofcom is requesting respondents’ analyses of the costs and benefits of such a comprehensive transition within one year.
- Section 5 - paragraph 5.5 The consultation states that Ofcom is proposing to remove the definitions of Publicly Available Telephone Service and Subscriber to the extent that they are replicated in the definitions and interpretation section of Part 1 of the General Conditions. This is incorrect. Ofcom is not proposing to remove those definitions from General Condition 18.
- Annex 4 - Question 5 See 1 above.
- Annex 9 - Definitions See 2 above. Ofcom has reinstated the existing definitions in the draft notification.
