Ofcom's advice on your next step
If you are looking for an internet service -
How do I switch from one ISP to another
Switching your broadband and ‘calls-only’ services (i.e. Telephone ‘line rental’ remain with existing supplier )
If you are switching your broadband and your ‘calls-only’ services (and leaving the telephone line rental with your existing provider), then you should follow the MAC process for the broadband. You do not need a separate code for moving the ‘calls-only’ service.
For the ‘calls-only’ service, you will subsequently receive two notification letters, one from the Provider who is losing the calls service, and another from the Provider who is gaining the calls service. This is to advise you of the details of the switch, and give you an opportunity to cancel if you have changed your mind or have been mis-sold.
Both services (i.e. broadband and ‘calls-only’) with the losing supplier will be automatically cancelled once the new services are live with the chosen supplier.
You should be aware that not all ‘line-rental’ providers are obliged to offer ‘line-rental’ only. You should clarify this with your existing ‘telephone’ service provider.
