Cost of using your mobile abroad (international roaming)
Thanks to the new European regulation, no one should be charged more than around 40 pence per minute to make a call or around 20 pence per minute to receive a call anywhere in Europe (this will vary depending on the Euro exchange rate), except for Switzerland, Croatia and Turkey, where charges might be higher.
Before travelling abroad, you should check with your operator to see if they have a deal that suits you better than their default roaming tariff.
The European Commission’s website, http://ec.europa.eu/information_society/activities/roaming/index_en.htm also provides consumer information on European roaming charges.
