Ales Jankú

Ales Jankú has a doctorate in international law from the Charles University in Prague. Before joining T-Mobile has was the Director of Corporate Affairs in the Republic for Philip Morris, having previously worked, from 1975 to 1993, as a diplomat in the Czechoslovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In the Embassy in Bern he was deputy Ambassador in the Consular Department, and Head of the Analytical Section. He also worked in the Consulate in Varna, the Embassy in the Hague, and the Consulate General in Montreal. Other professional activities have included being a founder member of the Czech Advertising Council, a director of the Czech Branded Goods Association, Deputy Chairman of the National Gallery Foundation and a Member of the Board of the Foundation for Contemporary Art. He was Chairman of the Czech–Euro Association, representing corporate members, in negotiations with the Czech Government as part of the EU accession process.
