Carolyn Fairbairn

Partner, Media and Entertainment – McKinsey & Company

Carolyn Fairbairn has returned to McKinsey & Company, which she first joined as a management consultant in the 1990s, having previously worked as a financial journalist on The Economist and as a development economist for the World Bank. In 1997 she was a member of the Downing Street Policy Unit with responsibility for policy development in health, and then worked at the BBC as Director of Strategy and Distribution. She developed the BBC's plans to maximise commercial opportunities in the UK and around the world, and was an architect of Freeview. Carolyn left the BBC to travel with her family before rejoining McKinsey as Partner for Media and Entertainment
