Stephanie Liston was appointed to the Board of Ofcom on 1 September 2005. She is a member of Ofcom's Audit Committee. Stephanie is Senior Counsel to Howes Percival - Norwich.

A qualified lawyer in the US and the UK, she is co-chairman of the Communications Committee of the International Bar Association and co-founder and chair of Women in Telecoms and Technology. She has more than 15 years of experience advising on strategic regulatory issues, contractual negotiations and commercial transactions for numerous companies in the UK, European and international communications sector.

Her previous positions include: Senior Counsel to the firm of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr (2003-2006); Director, European Competitive Telecoms Association (2001-2005); Co-founder and Chair, Women in Telecoms and Technology (from 2001); Partner, McDermott Will & Emery (1999-2003); Partner, Baker & McKenzie (1995-1999); Manager, Freshfields (1992-1995); International Counsel, MCI Communications Corporation (1990-1992); Associate, Fulbright & Jaworski (1984-1990).
