Eli M Noam

Professor of Ecomics and Finance - Columbia Business School

Eli Noam has been Professor of Economics and Finance at the Columbia University Business School since 1976, and is Director of the Columbia Institute for Tele-Information, a research centre focusing on strategy, management, and policy in communications, mass media, and IT. He served for three years as a Commissioner for Public Services of New York State and was appointed in 2003 to the President’s IT Advisory Committee. A regular columnist for the Financial Times online edition, he has published about 400 articles and 27 books, including European titles including: Telecommunications in Europe; Television in Europe; The International Market in Film and Television Programs; Asymmetric Deregulation: The Dynamics of Telecommunications Policies in Europe and the United States; Interconnecting the Network of Networks; Internet Television; and Mass Media over Mobile Networks. His academic board memberships include the Oxford Internet Institute.
