Ofcom’s global forum will involve leaders from industry, government, regulatory authorities and the investor community, sharing best practice on the challenges for the global communications market - as commerce, consumers, and communications regulation undergoes a period of dramatic change.
This event will explore the necessary conditions for the deployment of Next Generation super-fast broadband, and the impact that the Net Generation poses for traditional business models and regulatory approaches. Key issues which will be addressed include:
- What are the key drivers for the new content economy and what challenges does this pose for business, public intervention and investment incentives?
- What are the key conditions for the successful deployment new super-fast broadband networks and is international best practice emerging?
- As wireless technologies evolve - are traditional mobile business models being eclipsed?
- What are the key inputs required to exploit the full potential of wireless e.g. spectrum liberalisation, light touch regulation, common standards?
- What can regulators and business learn from the consumer and social behaviour over the internet?
- Is there a global content market? How is new creative content being monetised?

- What are the problems that privacy, piracy and network management poses for regulators and industry?
