Ofcom Chief Executive Ed Richards has explained the background behind today’s PSB consultation.

Speaking on the BBC Radio 4 Today programme this morning, he said the one of key questions was what kind of public service broadcasting was wanted in a digital age.

He explained that there needed to be structural changes to the current system and that audiences had told Ofcom they valued a range of public service providers.
