Ofcom has received four applications for the Exeter commercial radio licence. These are:

Exeter FM

Exeter FM is a locally-focused radio station for Exeter and the surrounding area that is designed to appeal to a broad range of adult listeners, particularly those aged 35-54, with a full service of comprehensive news and local information, engaging speech features and conversation and a wide variety of music from the 60s to the present day.

Silver FM

A local speech and music station for the Exeter area with 24-hour-a-day local news, information and entertainment aimed primarily at people aged 35 and over, with a wide variety of Classic Hit music.

Sunshine Radio

A genuinely local radio station for 35 to 64 year olds, focused on Exeter and the surrounding area, with significant speech content such as local news, interviews and community information forming an essential part of the output.

A further application was submitted, but this was considered invalid as it failed to comply with the published guidelines.

The full applications for this licence will be published on the Ofcom website shortly.
