Applications for Radio Multiplex Licence: North Yorkshire
Ofcom has received one application for the North Yorkshire local digital radio multiplex licence.

MuxCo North Yorkshire Limited is proposing to provide six local digital sound programme services as follows:

MuxCo North Yorkshire Limited also proposes to provide "a wide selection of podcasts provided by a range of companies".
MuxCo North Yorkshire Limited proposes to commence its service with five of its proposed local digital sound programme services by 30 June 2009, using a network of two transmitters which it estimates will provide noise-limited 'outdoor' coverage of 65% of the adult (aged 15+) population of the licensed area. The applicant proposes to implement one further transmitter within two years of the launch of the service, which it estimates will increase noise-limited 'outdoor' coverage to 72.5% of the adult population of the licensed area. One further local digital sound programme service (Yorkshire Coast Radio) will launch within two years of the commencement of the local radio multiplex service.
This local radio multiplex will include capacity reserved for the transmission in digital form of BBC Radio York.
