Business Radio Data Cleansing
As discussed at the last Business Radio Interest Group we are currently undertaking an exercise to ensure that the information we keep about the use of radio spectrum by our licensees is as up to date and accurate as possible.
Accurate information will enable our new licensing systems to manage the radio spectrum more effectively and offer a better quality of service to our stakeholders.
We have identified a number of records where we need to confirm the accuracy or completeness of the information we hold. In such cases we have contacted the affected licensees. In cases where we are missing information we have proposed to implement a set of default values unless advised of alternative values. It is necessary for us to do this because our new licensing systems require a complete set of data to ensure that the risk of interference between users of the radio spectrum is minimised.
These default values, which were developed with the assistance of experts in the radio industry, are designed to protect the licensee and other radio users from interference. These default values are set out below. However, if licensees do have more accurate information please do not hesitate to supply it to us using the contact details provided below.
