Signing arrangements questionnaire

The British Sign Language Broadcasting Trust has been running signed programmes on the Community Channel for almost a year. Ofcom would like to know what deaf sign-language users think about it. Please answer these questions before 29 January 2010.

Fields marked with * are required.

Questions for deaf BSL users

Now go to Question 7

The sign language zone on the Community Channel includes programmes presented in sign language, similar to ‘See Hear’. These are instead of programmes where the signer is shown over the TV picture, which used to be shown on a lot of channels with small audiences, often very late at night. The main channels continue to show a choice of programmes with the signer over the picture.

You can see the sign language zone on Sky, Virgin, Freesat from Sky, or the Community Channel and BSLBT websites. In some areas of the UK, you can also watch the Community Channel on Freeview in the morning but this may stop when analogue broadcasting finishes in 2012. There is no guarantee that the Community Channel will be available on Freeview from 2012, though it should continue to be available in other ways (e.g. on Freesat from Sky, Virgin Media, Sky and online).
