Welcome to CCE
Consumer Communications for England is an independent advisory committee set up by the
government through the 1984 Telecommunications Act. Its job is to advise the Director
General of Telecommunications on issues which affect telecoms consumers in England.
Its aim is to promote the interests of consumers, particularly those with least power in
the market - including people living on low incomes or in rural areas.

The Committee is chaired by Miss Moira
Black. Members are appointed by the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry.
CCE monitors the telecoms market and the activities of Oftel and exercises its
influence through meetings. conferences, publications, research, and responding to Oftel
and government consultations. |
