Richard Peel joined the Independent Television Commission as Director of Public Affairs and Regions in January 2000. Prior to this, he was Controller of Communication for BBC News before joining the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) as Director of Corporate Affairs at the beginning of 1998.
While with the BBC, he ran the press and promotion unit for four general elections, launched Radio 5 Live and managed a team of publicists responsible for promoting all radio and television news and current affairs output.
At the ECB, he raised awareness of the Board’s role both inside and outside the game and developed a five year strategy for cricket.
He is currently on a six-month secondment as Communications Advisor to Ofcom.
