Audience Research Reports
The Broadcasting Act 1990 requires that we find out what viewers think about programmes included in our licensees' services, and also any effects of the programmes on the attitudes or behaviour of viewers.
The ITC commissions research from different sources. We subscribe to the Broadcasters' Audience Research Board (BARB) data on audience measurement (how many people are watching television). We also commission a wide range of quantitative and qualitative research from external bodies, many in collaboration with the Broadcasting Standards Commission.
