UPTON TRAVEL CENTRE LTD (T/A MED TRAVEL)- TELETEXT
Complaint from: 1 viewer
Background
A viewer reported seeing a holiday to Cyprus offered at a price of £279. When he called to enquire about the holiday he was told that the price had increased to £319. He believed the advertising was misleading.
Assessment
Teletext provided copies of Med Travel's advertising. These showed that the price for the holiday in question was not amended until late on the day following the complainant's call, even though other elements of the advertisement had been changed earlier that day.
The ITC agreed that the advertising had been misleading until the time it was amended.
Conclusion
Complaint upheld.
