Background
An advertisement for the De Agostini Radio Controlled Car claimed that it could reach speeds of 40 miles per hour (mph).
Issue
Three viewers complained that the De Agostini website quoted a top speed of only 28-mph.
Assessment
The advertising agency apologised for the error, which had arisen when the advertisement was translated from the original Spanish. The top speed should have been advertised as 28-mph.
The ITC upheld the complaint as the advertisement had given viewers misleading information.
Conclusion
