Delay in service repair

As with all complaints involving telecommunications services, you should approach your telephone company first. You should also ensure that you been through all the complaints processes at your telephone company.

You can contact Oftel, but please note we have no powers to require any telephone company to repair your service any faster. We log all complaints we receive and where complaint trends are evident we will bring these trends to the attention of the company concerned.

Some telephone companies may promise to repair service within a certain time, or will promise to pay compensation if they fail to meet agreed timescales. Some telephone companies will also offer enhanced repair facilities which, for an additional cost, ensure that the company will respond to a reported fault within a specified timescale. In certain instances vulnerable customers may qualify for this service free of charge. It may be worth looking into these issues when considering which telephone company to use.
