Geographic and Non-geographic Number Portability Focus Group Terms of Reference

Objective

The G & NG NP Focus Group is responsible for the identification and resolution of commercial and procedural issues associated with the porting of geographic and non-geographic numbers between operators in accordance with the Number Portability Functional Specification and High Level Service Descriptions.

Membership

Membership is open to individually UK-licensed Operators, other holders of numbering allocations and Oftel. Additionally, others may be invited with the agreement of the members.

Key Deliverables

• Implementation of directives issued by UK and European regulatory authorities;

• Charging arrangements

• Contractual arrangements;

• Resolution of escalated commercial issues;

• Development of new services in accordance with industry requirements.

Frequency of Meetings

Meetings are held on a six weekly basis at venues provided by the membership on a rotating basis.

Chair of Group

The Chair is held for a tenure of six months. This period may be extended by agreement with the sitting chair and the membership.

Reporting

The chair, or their representative, will make a verbal and or written report of the activities of the Focus Group to the Operator Policy Forum.
