Suggested timetable for introducing the proposed new Condition into Telecommunications Act Licences (together with appropriate deletions)

1. BT - June 1996

2. Mercury - early 1996 (see separate consultative document)

3. Kingston, Cellnet, Vodafone - August 1996.

4. Slimline PTO licences - October 1996.

5. NTL, BBC - end 1996.

6. Cable PTO Licences - end 1996.

7. Modification of licences authorising International Simple Resale, most of which contain the "Maintenance of Effective Competition" condition - March 1997 .

8. Other licensees end December 1997.

Note: Class licences and minor individual licences such as SMATV licences are not currently scheduled for amendment. Comments are invited on whether it might be appropriate for class licences to contain the new condition.
