In June 2003 the latest batch of CRS complaint data was published. The data covers the 6 month period October 2002 to March 2003 and looks at the Fixed, Mobile and Internet markets. Complaints are shown in tables for each company as complaints per 1,000 customers. The publication can be found at: http://www.oftel.gov.uk/publications/consumer/comp0603.htm and you can visit the web page to see how each company performed. Overall in the fixed Market the number of complaints were up slightly and the average complaints per 1,000 customers for the fixed line market remained the same as the previous publication (0.3 complaints per 1,000 customers). The Mobile Market complaints increased up and average complaints per 1,000 customers also increased to from 0.4 to 0.5 (was 0.4). The number of Ccomplaints in the Internet Market showed a decreased as did the average complaints per 1,000 customers (from 0.4 to 0.3). The publication provides an important incentive to telephone companies and Internet service providers to improve the quality of the service they offer their customers. Oftel will publish one further set of complaints data in December.
