A new subscription service enables customers to specify their areas of interest and receive automatically all new or revised publications in these subject fields. An application form for this service, RA 322, is available from the above addresses.

During the year Enquiry Officers sent out 259,610 publications to industry and the public.

All new and revised publications are now published, free of charge, both in paper format and on the Agency web site.

Internet

The Agency continues to develop its site on the World Wide Web. The RA web site contains some 12,500 pages of radio-related material and attracts approximately 15,000 hits per week. Approximately 50% of the users are UK based.

The web site address is:

We welcome any suggestions for improvements to our web site - you can e-mail comments to us at:

Agency Enquiry Point

The Enquiry Point, reached on 020 7211 0211, is staffed during working hours by a team of experienced Enquiry Officers who will either answer your enquiry themselves, or transfer you to a member of the Agency's licensing or technical staff as appropriate.

Alternatively, callers with access to a tone-dialling telephone can make use of the 24-hour Voice Manager system, at the same telephone number, which enables them to place orders for the most popular Agency publications, either to be sent out to them by post the following day, or to be faxed to them immediately.

During the year Enquiry Officers dealt with 66,856 enquiries, and once again we surpassed our target of answering 92% of all calls within 30 seconds of the caller choosing to speak to an operator - the actual figure achieved was 97%.

Publicity and Exhibitions

Since the Agency's inauguration in 1990, promotion and publicity have been core Agency activities. The publicity programme is designed to:

operate in support of the Agency's overall objectives through distribution of free publications, paid publicity, free media and the press;

raise awareness and understanding of the Agency's work;

assist in raising income through licence applications;

provide opportunities for our customers to meet and talk with Agency representatives.
