Additional Information:
1) After 30 September 2000 existing equipment may be used, and Agency local offices will
investigate interference complaints from users of such MPT 1303 equipment provided that it
has CTCSS fitted, until 30 September 2005, but use thereafter shall be on an unprotected,
non-interference basis.
2) From 30 September 1995, new integral antenna PMR equipment intended primarily for
analogue speech, should be type approved in accordance with ETS 300 296. Integral antenna
equipment with an internal or external antenna connector should be type tested to ETS 300
086. Equipment intended for data transmission should be type approved to ETS 300 113 and
equipment for analogue speech plus signalling should be type approved to I-ETS 300 219.

Additional Information:
Conformance with MPT 1320 was stated by a manufacturers declaration and no formal
type testing was required. MPT 1320 is being replaced by MPT 1382 which does require
formal type testing of equipment. Sale of all equipment certified to MPT 1320 will be
prohibited after 31 December 1995 when European Directive 89/336/EEC on EMC becomes
mandatory.
