Radiocommunications Agency (RA) publishes Research Review |
RA Press Release - 10 March 2000
The Radiocommunications Agencys Engineering and Research Unit publishes its research review report today. The document outlines the direction that propagation research will take over the next five years. This includes:
the implementation of a Radio Research Advisory Committee;
maintaining the Agencys commitment to support radio communications research activities; and
new studies aimed at extending the usable spectrum and short-term spectrum sharing compatibility issues.
The review process included wide consultation with industry, academia and research organisations and the methodology and spread of views is documented in the report. All the recommendations in the report are the result of a process of careful consideration of the views expressed during the consultation process. David Hendon, the Agencys Chief Executive said: "I welcome this report which is the culmination of a long process of consultation. It provides a sound foundation for the Agency to develop a research programme that is relevant to existing and future spectrum management in the UK and reflects the needs of the UK radio sector."
The Research Review is available on the Radiocommunications Agency website at: http://www.radio.gov.uk/busunit/research/review/rev_indx.htm
