Wireless Telegraphy Act Licence Fees

The Radiocommunications Agency today announces publication in the London, Edinburgh and Belfast Gazettes and the Channel Islands and Isle of Man newspapers proposals to introduce new licence fees levels in the following sectors from 19 July 2000:-

Notes for Editors

  1. The Wireless Telegraphy Act 1998 enabled licence fees to be set to reflect spectrum management factors in place of the administrative cost of issuing a licence.
  2. These proposals reflect the third annual stage of spectrum pricing implementation. Many small businesses in the sectors listed who do not use much radio spectrum will benefit from decreases in fees. Users of exclusive channels and those in congested areas may expect to pay more.
