Press Release - 19 March 2001

Radiocommunications Agency has today relaunched its website at the above address.

The website has undergone a major restructuring exercise:

* to make it easier to use,
* to focus more on our customers and their areas of interest, and
* to provide more links to other sites, both within and outside Government, which provide radio-related information.

One of our aims is to follow the principle of the Citizen portal, www.ukonline.gov.uk, which is that web users should be able to find official information without knowing which government department it comes from. In the same way, our website will allow users to find radio-related information, whether it comes from Radiocommunications Agency or from another source.

The Business Unit pages have gone, and have been replaced by Topic pages, each of which will provide an e-mail contact within RA, links to other sites, and all the RA information on the subject.

Another new feature is an A-Z index, providing another easy way to find documents or links.

We welcome all suggestions for improvements to the site or new links, either using the feedback form or to: website@ra.gsi.gov.uk

Notes for editors:

  1. The Radiocommunications Agency is an executive agency of the DTI, responsible for licensing civil use of the radio spectrum in the UK.
