About Fixed Link Assignments

RA manages the provision of Fixed Link services to customers in the civil fixed service sector, consulting with co-ordination units and regional offices as appropriate and acting as a point of contact for the wider fixed services community. Within this remit, the operations unit is responsible for:

• the determination of operations policy towards the sectors;
• the planning of spectrum set aside for the sector, taking into account engineering design and regulatory factors, with a view to obtaining its optimum utilisation;
• the development of appropriate licence products;
• assisting in the development of the specification of equipment standards;
• Channel assignments, which is a critical element within the issuing of licences.
• The identification of customer service needs and expectations and the handling of customer enquiries.
