Requirements for Participation in UK Delegations |
| support the UK brief (whether expressed in writing, or developed informally in UK delegation meetings during the meeting) on the matters being discussed both in formal and informal meetings | |
| keep any briefing material confidential | |
| consult the head of delegation where the UK position seems unclear, and take part as far as possible in any briefing meetings | |
| keep the head of delegation informed of the progress and any difficulties being experienced | |
| inform the head of delegation of the period of attendance at the meeting and the time of departure |
It is recognised that representatives
of Sector Members may register both as a UK delegate and a representative
of the Sector Member.
Should you consider that the UK written brief conflicts with the views of
your Sector Member, and that you would wish to speak in support of your Sector
Member position, you should only register as a representative of your Sector
Member and not as a UK delegate. If this situation arises during the meeting
and you wish to speak against the UK position, you should withdraw your membership
of the UK delegation.
