Wireless Advisory Group |
The WAG will be an advisory body to the Radiocommunications Agency, its successor Ofcom, and other relevant bodies as appropriate. It will identify and address commercial, technical, policy and standardisation issues regarding mobile/nomadic and wireless local area network services and fixed wireless access network services.
At present, the WAG is considering the bands 2.4 GHz (2400 to 2483.5 MHz) and 5 GHz (5150 to 5350, 5470 to 5725 and 5725 to 5875 MHz). It will:
produce reports, recommendations, draft UK contributions etc as appropriate,
on various issues identified and prioritised within agreed timescales; and
contribute
to the preparation of technical input to UK, European and international bodies
as appropriate.
The group, which is currently chaired by Stuart Cooke of Nokia, met for the first time on 5th November 2002.
