The Data on PMR Group was formed (with effect from June 2003) as a sub-group of the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) to take forward and examine issues for Data/Digital PMR. The group will be chaired by Mark Redman (Engineer in Private Business Systems Unit) and a secretary will be provided by the Agency.
Membership will consist of:
RA2 PBSU Licensing representatives
RA2 PBSU technical representatives
RA2 PWN representatives
RA3 representatives, regional & HQ
Other members as detailed below (Membership Qualification)
Membership Qualifications
Any UK ETSI member, UK Manufacturer, Test Laboratory, Trade Association, User,
Research Organisation etc., as per ETSI.
All correspondence and communication will primarily be done through electronic
and postal means.
Objectives
The objective of Data on PMR Group is to provide a technical working forum for
technical issues concerning Private Business Radio. In addition the main areas
for discussion are:
Review
the RA licensing practices for allowing Data over PMR.
Review
the Spectrum allocation for data on PMR.
Write
Codes of Practices where required to facilitate the fair and polite use of the
spectrum.
Review
IR2008 - policy, spectrum, technology and licensing.
Review
new Standards and assist in the delivery of policy and licensing.
Review
shared access protocols.
Conduct
The Group will meet as required at RA Headquarters, Wyndham House, Docklands,
London. Upon invitation and agreement within the Group the meeting will be hosted
around the UK.
