2GHz
A consultation document was published on 12th April 2002 concerning the licencing arrangements of Zipcom, currently the only FWA operator licenced to provide narrowband FWA services to remote rural areas in the UK using the 2 GHz spectrum. The consultation proposes to remove the data rate limit and amend the roll out obligations of Zipcom's licence. The RA is also seeking views on the possibility of awarding licences for FWA in respect of the metropolitan areas of Scotland and Wales in the 2 GHz band. Further details can be found here

Addendum:
Please note that the ITU Recommendations referred to in Annex 1 (paragraphs 6 and 7) are erroneously given as ITU-R SA.1247-1 and ITU-R SA.1248 respectively. The correct prefixes are ITU-R F.1247-1 (6) and ITU-R F.1248 (7).
