David Vick - Chief Operating Officer
 and Director of Development
David Vick was appointed Chief Operating Officer of the Radio Authority in June 2003.  Prior to this, he was Deputy Chief Executive of the Radio Authority, from 1995. As the Authority's Head of Development since its establishment, he has responsibility for the strategic planning of Independent Radio services, the advertising of new and existing licences, and for co-ordinating the assessment of licence applicants. His department deals with short-term 'restricted service licences', hospital and student radio, and 'access radio' pilots, as well as national and local licensing.

David Vick previously worked at the IBA (Independent Broadcasting Authority), which he joined in 1975 having graduated from Cambridge University and after carrying out postgraduate anthropological fieldwork in Western Kenya.

David lives in Beaconsfield (Bucks.), and is married with two young children. His interests include films, jazz and travelling to remote and exotic corners of the world, although nowadays such visits are mainly confined to Barnet Football Club's away matches.
