Feargal Sharkey - Member of the Radio Authority

Feargal was appointed a Member of the Radio Authority for five years from December 1998.  His term has recently been extended to end on 31 December 2003.  Feargal also acts as a consultant to the Music Industry.  

He began his career shortly after leaving school as a member of the Undertones, releasing their first single, Teenage Kicks, late in 1978.  There followed a period spanning some twelve years and many hit singles and albums, Jimmy Jimmy, My Perfect Cousin, and Here Comes the Summer, culminating in a successful solo career with the worldwide number 1, A Good Heart.

The early nineties saw a change of direction and a move into the administration side of the industry, initially as A&R Manager for Polydor Records and latterly as Managing Director of EXP Ltd a post he held until the end of 1996.

 Feargal currently resides in North London.
