172/99 1 December 1999 RADIO AUTHORITY CONFIRMS AWARD OF DIGITAL MULTIPLEX LICENCE FOR CARDIFF AND NEWPORT AND PUBLISHES ASSESSMENT The Radio Authority is today (1 December) confirming its award of the local digital multiplex licence for Cardiff, Newport and surrounding parts of South-East Wales to Capital Radio Digital Ltd. The Authority made a conditional award to Capital Radio Digital on 4 November. The company has accepted the Authority's condition that it should modify its proposed transmission arrangements in order to reduce coverage overspill beyond the area for which this licence was advertised.
