An International Model for Media Literacy
Robin Blake (Head of Media Literacy, Ofcom)
Presentation by Ofcom of a hypothetical model seeking to describe some of the factors that shape media literacy, and which may vary in different countries. The model is based on:
- Political interventions
- Media regulation
- Market contexts
- Social and cultural contexts
This is a hypothesis to describe why media literacy research is seen in different ways around the world. The presentation will examine the application of the model in a UK context.
