Ofcom gives ITV consent for World Cup Broadcast
Ofcom has given ITV consent for its exclusive live coverage of matches in the FIFA World Cup Finals on ITV1 and ITV digital channels in 2006.
Two responses were received to Ofcom’s consultation (closing date: 7 April), from Five and Mr Adam Gardner of the People's Body of Free Live Sport for All. Ofcom has considered carefully the points raised in these two responses. However, Ofcom has concluded that these either fall outside the scope of the listed events rules or else do not provide grounds for refusing ITV consent.
