Television Broadcast Licences Handed Back or Revoked

The following licences have been handed back (no longer required by the licensee) or revoked as a matter of routine (usually for non-payment of the annual licence fee). Ofcom can also revoke licences for a number of reasons relating to the conditions of the licence. In such cases Ofcom will normally publish a statement setting out the reasons for the revocation.

Content Change of Television Broadcast Licences

The following licences have changed the nature of the content of their service. A licence can fall in one of three main categories; editorial, teleshopping or self-promotional.

* 'We Deliver TV' was referred to Ofcom by the ASA in February 2006 for consideration of a statutory sanction for breaches of the BCAP Advertising Standards Code. The licensee company was placed in liquidation in September 2006 and the licence was revoked shortly thereafter, in accordance with Ofcom's normal procedures. As the licence has been revoked Ofcom's sanctions procedure has, in this case, been discontinued.
