Consultation: Notice of Ofcom’s proposals to amend the spectrum trading and register regulations

  • Start: 31 October 2019
  • Status: Closed
  • End: 03 December 2019

Ofcom’s statement on enabling wireless innovation through local licensing announced two new types of licence to make it easier for users in the UK to access radio spectrum on a shared basis. These are the Shared Access Licence and the Local Access Licence. The new licences provide localised access to spectrum bands that can support mobile technology.

We propose to update the spectrum trading and register regulations to include the new Shared Access Licences and Local Access Licences.

We invite comments on our proposals to make the statutory instruments and regulatory impact assessment.
