Neges i Newid – blwyddyn o'i gwneud hi'n haws i newid darparwr symudol
It’s been a year since the introduction of text to switch, a change that has made it quicker and easier to change your mobile network.
Since text to switch was introduced, mobile customers have been able to change provider simply by sending a free text to their mobile company. They can do this if they want to keep their current number, or if they want to get a new number.
This is how it works:
Previously, if you wanted to keep your number they needed to call your provider to ask for your porting authorisation code (PAC). But lots of customers were frustrated by the need to do this, as it often led to attempts by their provider to persuade them to stay.
Since text to switch was introduced, there’s been an increase in the number of customers switching, and we’ve also heard from customers about how much easier they’ve found the process.
In the past, if you wanted to switch your mobile company, you would have to call your provider... an inaccessible process for Deaf customers.@Ofcom have introduced #TextToSwitch allowing you to switch your mobile phone provider by text. Tried @Ofcom #TextToSwitch for the first time today. So impressed with how easy the process is. No more having to run the gauntlet of the “retentions team”. One text and it’s done! https://t.co/x8eW4jQYsd pic.twitter.com/6CQKR5yPJ8

FROM TODAY you can get your PAC to take your mobile number to a new provider just by sending a text.

Send 'PAC' to 65075 (free text) and your provider will reply with your PAC code within a minute. They'll also advise of any termination charges. #ConsumerRights pic.twitter.com/U2Jj6X98w1
This is pretty amazing if you want to switch mobile contract; now takes 1 day AND you can get your PAC code immediately via text. pic.twitter.com/LXHlGDtCjf

This thing where you text to get your PAC code (to keep number and change networks) is great. Within about 50 minutes my mobile network rang me up and offered me a deal to stay by halving my monthly cost.

Thanks to @Ofcom for making it easier than ever before to change networks. I switched to @VOXI_UK within 1 working day and had everything up and running back to normal with my same number.
