Ofcom has reaccredited HandsetExpert, a price comparison service that helps consumers to find the right mobile phone deals and tariffs for them.
HandsetExpert sources information from across the web and combines it into single rating scores and buyers’ guides for each handset. Consumers can then access these scores to help them decide which phone, contract or deal to buy, and where to get it from.
Ofcom accreditation is awarded to price comparison services that pass a rigorous, independent audit to ensure the information they provide is comprehensive, accurate and easy to understand.
Further audits take place 12 months after services are first accredited, and every 18 months after that. HandsetExpert was originally accredited by Ofcom in July 2017.
Lindsey Fussell, director of Ofcom’s consumer group, said: “Price comparison services such as HandsetExpert help consumers by offering information on the services available to them and how much they cost. This helps consumers to make informed decisions, with the details they need at their fingertips.
“If a service is accredited by Ofcom, consumers can be confident that the information it provides is accurate and thorough.”
Shahrum Gilani, founder and CEO of HandsetExpert, said: “We are delighted that our price comparison services have been re-accredited by Ofcom. HandsetExpert's mission is to provide customers with helpful, impartial advice for all things mobile, so they always get the right phone at the right price.
“Our continued accreditation means our customers can use our mobile phone contract and SIM comparison with confidence.”
There are currently eight price comparison services accredited by Ofcom. For more information visit our dedicated price comparison page.
