Ofcom appoints Robin Foster to its Content Board

Ofcom has appointed Robin Foster, previously an independent member of the Authority for Television On Demand (ATVOD) Board, to its Content Board.
Ofcom’s Content Board is a committee of the main Ofcom Board, with delegated and advisory responsibility for a wide range of content issues, including the regulation of television, radio and video-on-demand quality and standards.
Robin brings over 20 years’ experience of the UK media sector. He has held senior level strategy positions at the BBC and the Independent Television Commission, and is currently a member of the Advertising Advisory Committee to BCAP at the Advertising Standards Authority and a founding director of media consultants, Communications Chambers.
Robin has previous experience at Ofcom as a strategy partner, playing a key role in its first major strategic reviews of public service broadcasting, telecommunications and spectrum. From June 2010 to March 2015, Robin was a member of Ofcom’s Spectrum Advisory Board.
Robin has served on a number of advisory boards, including the Digital Britain Board and the Commission for Communications Regulation expert advisory panel. He has also advised the House of Lords Communications Committee.
Robin’s appointment is for a three year term.
