Content that is not a video

Ofcom regulates UK-established video-sharing platforms (VSPs). These are services that allow users to upload or share videos with other people. We do not currently regulate:

  • written content, such as comments or articles;
  • individual images or photos; or
  • any other online content that is not a video.

If your complaint relates to any content that is not a video, you will need to complain directly to the platform that the content was accessed from. Details on how to do this should be available on the platform’s app or website.

For details on the UK Government’s plans for future online safety regulation, please view its update on the Online Safety Bill.
