Conclusions published 6 December 2022

Mobile internet access has become an essential service for people and businesses. We expect demand for mobile data to continue to grow as greater use is made of data-hungry services and as new technologies enable new uses. All types of wireless network will need to evolve to meet future demand and to deliver the quality of experience customers need.

Alongside Wi-Fi, mobile networks play an important role in delivering internet access. We have been considering our future approach to mobile markets and the role of spectrum in enabling mobile internet growth. We published discussion papers on each of these areas in February 2022. We have now set out our conclusions, taking account of the responses we received.

We have also published an update on the use of the upper 6 GHz band.
