Briefing groups (international)

Ofcom has briefing groups related to its international work in CEPT, EU and ITU. Whilst most of the briefing is coordinated electronically, there are some meetings which require face-to-face stakeholder engagement. These groups are open to all stakeholders with a relevant interest in these areas.

The following groups meet at Riverside House 2-3 times per year:

The International Spectrum Stakeholder Briefing (ISSB) has been created to provide stakeholders with up-to-date information on developments in the CEPT, EU, ITU and standards bodies such as ETSI and IEEE. This is the top level spectrum briefing meeting providing a platform for Ofcom and its stakeholders to discuss a range of international spectrum issues. Contact Ofcom.international@ofcom.org.uk for further information and future meeting dates.

The International Frequency Planning Group (IFPG) and its Working Groups, is an ad hoc group reporting to the UK Spectrum Strategy Committee (UK SSC – a freestanding Government committee on UK Spectrum Strategy) which has the principal role of managing the UK preparations for ITU World Radiocommunication Conferences (WRCs). Membership of the IFPG covers Government departments and relevant statutory regulators, with major operators, broadcasters, communications industry representatives and others with relevant interests participating in the IFPG Working Groups.
